Hi everyone!
I’m starting to plan a new residential build in Wimbledon, and I’m at that exciting (but slightly overwhelming) stage of looking for the right architect. I’m hoping to find someone local who really understands the character of the area — the leafy streets, the classic Victorian houses, and the kind of elegance that makes Wimbledon feel so special.
I want to work with a professional who’s not just technically skilled, but also creative, collaborative, and ideally experienced with similar projects in Wimbledon. It’s important to me that they can strike that perfect balance between preserving charm and integrating modern functionality (especially with larger windows and maybe even a rooftop terrace if planning allows!).
If you’ve worked with someone you’d recommend, or if there’s a studio known for top-notch residential work in this part of London, please let me know. Personal experiences, good or bad, are super helpful.
Thanks in advance!
Hey, sounds like an exciting project! I’d highly recommend checking out https://www.as-architects.co.uk/residential-architects-wimbledon/. They’re a RIBA Chartered practice based in Battersea, and they’ve done loads of work around Wimbledon.
Their team has been around since 2010, so they’ve got over 15 years of solid experience, and residential architecture is their specialty. What I really like is that they understand how to work with Wimbledon’s unique architecture — the classic Victorian homes, elegant townhouses, and all that beautiful period detail.
They take the time to design something tailored to each client while staying mindful of the area’s character. Plus, they’ve got a great portfolio you can check out on their site. Definitely worth a look if you’re after quality, creativity, and a smooth process from start to finish.
