Hey everyone, finishing my bachelor’s in Business and starting interviews for entry-level roles. Recruiters keep asking for a number and I freeze because I don’t want to undersell myself or scare them off. The city is mid-cost; I have two internships and some freelance projects. How do you frame a range that fits your education and early experience, and still leaves room to grow after probation? Any tips on what data to bring into the talk would be greatly appreciated.

Coming from a similar background, I’ve noticed that showing a small portfolio plus one quantifiable win from internships makes the salary talk smoother. Adding a researched range and a short sentence about why you’re targeting that number has kept conversations positive for me. Curious to hear how your offers compare once you start quoting a range backed by those sources.
